The Oaks House is a free-standing facility designed with you, the birthing mother, in mind. As a former Parsonage house it feels like a home rather than a doctor's office or clinic. We provide all of your visits here which enables you to become familiar and comfortable with the environment. This is an expression of our philosophy that pregnancy is not a disease and shouldn't be treated as such.

About Us

In June, 2007, the Oaks House opened in Chino, CA. It is the only independent, freestanding birth center in the Chino Valley and the only birth center in the Inland Empire operated by a Licensed Midwife. Studies consistently show that women who labor and birth in a comfortable, familiar environment, and are continuously supported during labor by familiar caregivers, experience higher degrees of satisfaction and better outcomes. Nearly 99% of Birth Center clients nationwide would recommend Birth Center care to others. With this in mind, we opened the Oaks House to give women and families a warm, inviting facility for a comforting and rewarding birth experience.

We realize women are seeking out personalized care and a place where birth is celebrated as a major life transition rather than a medical event. Since 2000 Ancient Paths Midwifery has demonstrated that the presence of family, the absence of intrusions, and one-to-one care from your midwives help create an atmosphere where interventions are seldom necessary. Once screened for health and risk factors, most women can birth safely, if not safer in the birth center. Birth center births have been demonstrated to be as safe as hospital births, with fewer invasive procedures, fewer cesarean sections, and higher satisfaction at a lower cost.

Feeling more like a bed-and-breakfast with all the amenities of home, The Oaks House is a warm, inviting space to give birth to your baby. There are two birthing suites to choose from, each with different colors and patterns. Both suites have the same amenities and are equipped with ceiling fans, air conditioning and CD players with iPod docking. All the necessary birth supplies and emergency equipment are available at our fingertips yet discreetly out of sight, adding to the comfort of the rooms. The different styles allow you to pick a room that will feel welcoming and comfortable during your labor and birth.

Our birth rooms, combined with one-on-one care of a midwife, offer you peace of mind and joy during your birth. Despite the homey feel and appearance, the Oaks House is equipped to handle complications that may arise during birth. We combine privacy and comfort with the reassurance and safety of knowing that emergency equipment is nearby. We adhere to strict national standards and are guided by principles of prevention, sensitivity, safety, appropriate medical intervention, and cost effectiveness.
